Question

I am looking at having facial implant surgery to chin, cheeks and jaw line. Before I make my final decision, I would like to know whether dermal fillers will provide the same level of sculpting and definition as I want really dramatic or at least good results.

Answer

The best way to start would be with a consultation using computer imaging in 3-D and associated simulation, to determine what you are in the imaging as dramatic changes.

As a rule, filler-based augmentation tend to produce softer contours, where implants can produce more defined contours. In some instances, it actually takes less change then one imagines to produce the contrast, and it may be possible to combine injectable filler treatment to some areas with implant surgery in others to achieve the type of results that you describe.
