Question

I am in severe need of ethnic or augmentation nose reshaping and maybe a bit of nasal tip reconstruction, (I can send you photos if you want) however I scar badly and have decided against open tip surgery. Would you be able to reconstruct my nose with closed tip procedure?

Answer

Interestingly, the area of the nasal tip does not seem to be associated with hypertrophic scarring in anyone, and the infrequent problem scars that occur in the area are more likely to be related to alignment of the wound edges than healing issues.

Unfortunately, in my hands, I prefer to do the intervention through an open approach, primarily because it allows me to stabilise the support framework better and do a more even reduction in thickness of the soft tissues.
