Question

I am a 26 year old Black British woman very interested in rhinoplasty, in particular tip reduction and nostril reduction.

I think my side profile looks fine but from the front my nose looks triangular. I want to keep my nose in keeping with my ethnicity.

Answer

Alar base reduction is possible even under a local anaesthetic, but with regards to the nasal tip contouring more significant surgery would be required, typically to also produce an increased support to the nasal tip as well as a change in the shape of the cartridges in the area. Frequently, for increased support to the nasal tip I tend to use the rib cartilage.
