Question

I am very interested in your buccal fat pad removal procedure. I am 25 years old and have had overly chubby cheeks all my life. I really do think this is genetics and do not think they will lose very much fat as I age.

Could you confirm if I you would consider me for this procedure at your clinic?

Answer

As a first stage, I would recommend a [consultation using 3-D imaging and this is because it allows you to appreciate better what would be the impact of buccal fat reduction as well as liposuction for sculpting the face.

In addition, procedures along the jawline may be necessary depending on the facial characteristics that you would like to achieve.

It is relatively common for people to believe that buccal fat reduction can achieve a dramatic change in the shape of the face, on the basis that a lot of the Internet images are the results of combinations of treatments, but the take-home message is somewhat misrepresented.

It is also fair to say that increasingly, the perception in the plastic surgery groups is that someone who starts with moderate volume excess in the lower face, in particular in the context of normal weight, is unlikely to become gaunt later in life, and that is exactly what you have mentioned.
