I want to remove my dark circle permanently. Is there any treatment?
In principle, the circles under the eyes can be either related to the shape which is slightly hollow, or to the colour which is darker, or a combination of the two.
Hyaluronic acid filler injections can help with the shape, which also decreases the shadows that form in the area.
With regards to the colour, in some instances this is related to transparency of the very thin skin of the lower eyelid, and in other instances to genuine hyperpigmentation.
The hyperpigmentation sometimes a response to hydroquinone cream, and there are other topical products that could help.
When the problem is related to transparency, it is relatively difficult to change, but in some instances laser treatment can improve the appearance by building up a thicker soft tissue layer in the inner corner of the lower eyelid skin.
